Your product does a lot. Your messaging explains none of it

Positioning decks and feature lists aren't a story.

I take what your product does, who it's for, and what matters most and figure out what to lead with, what to cut, and how to make something complicated sound obvious.

Finding the story first

B2B Messaging Mistakes

You don't need someone to fill in the copy blocks.

You need someone to find the story first.

Most product and website copy gets written last — after the wireframes, after the brand deck, after everyone's already decided what the page says.

So it ends up technically accurate and completely forgettable.

Before we start writing sentences.

Let's decide what matters, in what order, and what to leave out entirely.

Not Just the Copy

Narrative Strategy

Positioning, product context, and audience insight, turned into a clear point of view.

Website & Product Copy

Headlines, page structure, product explanations — written to make something complex sound clear, not just written to fill the space.

Making Complex Products Make Sense

Technical products don't need to sound technical. I find the plain-language version without losing what makes the product worth caring about.

From leaders who've sent the brief.

I am excited to announce the cookbook project is finally finished, printed and ready for purchase. We are thrilled with the results and are extremely grateful to you for your creative ideas which resulted in this beautiful book.

Thank you!

Copywritten book

We needed to be able to clearly communicate what we are building to potential investors and funders.

I needed to be concise and have the best messaging possible.

I cannot say enough that it was an absolutely WONDERFUL experience working with Vivien.

She helped me refine my pitch and my why into a clear narrative that could be used on our promotional channels.

Vivien is thoughtful, insightful, and has great ideas. I highly recommend working with Vivien.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before You Reach Out

Is this just website copywriting?

No. Copy is the output, not the starting point. The actual work is figuring out what the story is before anything gets written.

Is this a one-off or ongoing?

Usually starts scoped to one project — a website, a specific launch — and can extend into ongoing brand support once we've found a working rhythm.

How is this different from Executive Comms? Executive Comms is about protecting leadership credibility on high-stakes messages. This is about finding and telling a product or brand story — often earlier and more exploratory. If you're not sure which one you need, just tell me what you're working on

"Can't I just use AI for this?"

AI is useful for drafts. It's not useful for judgment. It doesn't know why this announcement needs to land differently than the last one. It can't read the room, hold a leadership voice, or protect your reputation when the stakes are high. Sure you can try it first. I'll be here.
